The weather as of late has been warm and enjoyable and the music I’ve been listening to reflects that. Right now I’ve been really into these Nigerian and Ghanaian compilations of soul, funk, rock, afrobeat, and highlife music released by Soundway Records. Highly recommended.

Ghana Sounds is a good place to start, a friend gave it to me in mp3 form a long time ago and it’s what started me on African music. A year ago I picked up the Nigeria Special Vol. 1 in LP form on a whim (not realizing it was put out by the same label) and when I went back to the same shop a few days later Vol. 2 was gone!
