The Blucher

I hesitated on South Willard‘s restock of their suede Quoddy Bluchers, mostly because of the price, and now my size is gone! Oh well, I was however fortunate enough to receive a pair of Bean handsewn bluchers for Christmas so pout I will not. One day Quoddy, one day…

Raleigh & Rainier

I’ve seen these beautiful frames pop up here and there via blogs, flickr, etc. in both cyclocross and track versions. The track version looks to me like Raleigh has updated their design for the discontinued Rush Hour Pro so I’m hoping that the frame will be available for the public at some point. I would be proud to own either frame but the track version is especially mighty fine.

Larry Sultan Tribute

One of my favorite photographers died yesterday at age 63 from cancer. I had the honor of meeting and sharing a meal with Sultan when I was only a freshman in art school because a friend but only came to fully appreciate his work the following years. 63 is too young for such a great artist to die, I can only imagine what other great work could have come from him in the future. Article from the times.
