Emeco 1006

Emeco (Electric Machine and Equipment Co.) was founded in 1944 where it began manufacturing it’s iconic 1006 model chair on contract for the US Navy. Still made by hand in their Hanover, PA factory today as it was then of 80% recycled aluminum through a 77 step process. Light, strong, classic. Not just for boats and submarines anymore, they’re all over the world in cafes, homes, offices, you name it.

Acme Furniture

Spreads from Acme‘s spring catalog in which three unique American homes are visited as a backdrop for their products. These are from a surfer’s home in California and the others include a farmer’s home in Dallas and a leather craftsman in Soho. See the whole catalog here.

Three Potato Four

A new shop is under construction in Manayunk (a northern neighborhood of Philadelphia) called Three Potato Four, offering a plethora of well-curated industrial and vintage furniture and goods. The shop was previously run by a married couple from their home so having a bonafide brick and mortar must be a very exciting event for them. Check out their web shop here and stop in when it’s done at 376 Shurs Lane, only 15 minutes from center city Philadelphia.
