This season Topo Designs updates some of their staple bags like the Daypack with new colorways (the clay cordura is a beaut) and expands their collection of apparel. Notable pieces from the apparel line for me include the wool work shirt (also comes in plaid flannel) with it’s mismatched pockets and the soon to be released puffer vest filled with lightweight Primaloft.

The Japanese titanium enthusiasts at Snow Peak have designed a line of apparel that compliments the company’s hard goods well reputed for its minimal design and quality. I was happy to see the collection in person recently but seeing it styled and on models is a totally different way to appreciated it. Pockets, pop-overs, quilted insulation, and approachable uses of technical fabrics.. good things are coming. See more previews of the collection here (spork not included) .
The all white sneaker isn’t just a summer staple for me but I’ll be damned if I’m not reaching for them five out of seven days in warmer months. Authentics, Chuck’s, and Jack Purcell’s are my canons. The Stan Smith is is a silhouette that is often imitated and only successfully executed with luxe materials and construction by the likes of Common Projects and Buttero. Even still, one must pay homage to the original. Don’t worry about trying to keep them clean; if you are then surely you’ve missed the point. Available from JD Sports.

Thorough Stitch is a fairly new line designed and constructed in New York City consisting of pop-over shirts and chino’s in a variety of classic fabrics with more to come. The lines’ owner Chad mentions some exciting pieces to come for Fall including a Harris Tweed CPO which I’m certain will be nothing short of brilliant– poke around a little more around the Instagram feed and you’ll find some other promising pieces. Thorough Stitch cites classic American menswear as a starting point for their designs as many others have before them, but without coming off as trite and boringly Trad/Ivy/etc.

Anyone that knows me well can tell you that I am a bonafide land lover through and through. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy going to the beach in warmer months but I’ll take a shady mountain trail over hot sand any day of the week. If I was more surf-inclined I’d be wearing M. Nii all summer long “down the shore”- as they say around these parts. This Summer’s collection of American-made and classically-styled sportswear is super solid. Some of my favorite pieces include their two-tone corduroy “Low Pressure” jacket and “Big Rock¨ striped pocket tee- stripes are definitely their specialty.

Yet another killer season for Brooklyn accessory brand The Hill-Side and a colorful lookbook shot by Josh Wool on location in New York’s flower district. They couldn’t have picked a better location for their latest collection of ties, caps, totes, shoes, and all the other playfully patterned pieces The Hill-Side is producing for Spring and Summer. The good dudes over at Hackney GT are not only lovers of cycling but appreciators of the beautiful game and the music of Brazil- Russ himself is actually an eclectic dj whose mixes bring together all sorts of global genres. To celebrate the World Cup landing in Brazil this Summer Hackney GT’s created a jersey for men and women designed with motifs borrowed from the nation’s flag.
