Cinelli Pope
Rumor has it the bar was made by Cinelli in the 80’s for Pope John Paul II’s white Colnago and generally referred as the Pope or Priest bar for that reason. They’ll pop up on ebay every now and then but Cinelli now makes the Vallencia which only comes in a matte black finish (womp womp) and a 31.8mm clamp. Until I find a pair I’ll continue to stand by the Velo Orange’s more backswept Porteur bar.

I was happy to receive a tie from a friend who’s working with C. Chauchat– a duo based in New York making neck and bow ties that just revealed a collaboration with Robert Geller due next fall. Read on for a couple of my own takes on it.

Crepe Boat
Quoddy whipped up a nice variation of their boat shoe for UK shop Oi Polloi. The deck sole is swapped out for a stitched crepe sole and the toebox is constructed with a nice x-stitching. I recall seeing this boat shoe variation from Quoddy a couple years ago made for Albam, I guess this is a moccasin aimed at the Brits?
