first down
The very first American quilted down coat, The Skyliner, invented in 1936 and later patented in 1940 by Seattle’s Eddie Bauer. Classic style still in production today.. in America? Doubt it.

Free & Easy
Illustrations from Free & Easy magazine, Japan only but available on some US web stores few and far between. As Mister Crew mentioned these illustrations seem kind of silly without seeing them within the context of the issue’s themes which range from navy, army, workwear, and the “Dad’s Style” issues whose covers have included photographs of Steve McQueen and more recently Eric Clapton. Full spread scans from “The Navy-ism” issue below.
