The lovely folks who run Archival Clothing are working on this great rucksack. Think of a rugged Duluth pack but at a more manageable size with some features that are a little more useful for day to day use and not so much epic canoe trips while constructed with a waxed twill that’s comparably stronger than competing style packs. Personally I’m a big fan of the pockets under the flap but wouldn’t mind seeing some on the sides as well.
Unchained
For sale via Cowan’s Auctions is this spectacular rod-drive bicycle. I really could have used one of these today after putting my drivetrain through the mess that is commuting after a snow storm. Note the oil lamp mounted on the handlebars, so classy.

H&H Outdoors
I lived in Baltimore for two years before ever finding out about this place, now I can’t visit the city without making a stop here. The basement is a catacombs of used and unused outdoorsing equipment with everything from ski poles to skillets capable of feeding Paul Bunyan.

This Too Shall Past
I’ve never been a big fan of the band, but this video is spectacular. The song is good too though, reminiscent of Architecture in Helsinki.

Everyday

Chances are you won’t catch me without either my surplus German rucksack or Class 5 pullover anorak. The anorak was a thrift store find in the dead middle of summer, hibernating in my closet amongst other warmer items and waiting for cooler days. I wouldn’t mind if it was like its lined brother.
