Congrats to Topo Designs for opening up their very own flagship store in their hometown of Denver. If you happen to live out there then you’ve got no excuse to miss their opening this Friday evening. I’m also stoked to see what they’re gonna be doing with their in-house brand Oyo Mountain.
Jedd from Topo Designs sent over one of their fleece jackets at the tail end of last winter and I’ve been excited to make it a part of my regular outerwear rotation this year. I couldn’t help but notice how well the red and yellow placket trim went with my FairEnds livery so I expect that it’ll be a go-to jacket for both warm-ups and post-race hanging this cross season.
Just a sampling of the lookbook Foster shot for the upcoming Patagonia Legacy collection that celebrates 40 years of Patagonia by updating ten original designs with new materials and some fit changes as well. The collection consists of six outerwear pieces, three bottoms, and one pack. Notable classic favorites will include the Mesclun Retro-X jacket shown in the first photo and a quilted version of the classic Snap-T that has been making a comeback in the past couple of seasons. The collection will be available exclusively from Patagonia beginning September 1st. Owner Operator is a great little brand founded by two fella’s by the name of Steven and Peter run the whole show from New York where it’s all made. This season marks their third collection that’s full of some pretty classically styled outerwear and cold weather accessories that the two snowboarders have designed. Even their logo screams a certain old-school cool that you just can’t find in new gear. The insulated flannels are definitely my favorite pieces, but I’m also a sucker for knitted bobble caps.
Damn, Tracko is doing it again with these killer bags made by Archive Bags in SF. The rolltop, messenger, and backpack are decked out in cordura, waxed cotton, and of course Pendleton wool. This old Sologne creel bag really peaked my interest when I saw it over at Vintage Bicycle and got me to thinking about how I could get some fishing done by bike this summer, even if only catch and release. I’d be curious if any readers have experience fishing on their bike and what kind of gear might be more preferable over others. Tenkara perhaps?
