With the start of a new season I always look forward to the Journal Standard lookbooks; always a nice selection of goods as well as styling and photography. Check out the men’s catalog here and/or the lengthier ladies catalog here. Oh, and don’t forget about all the other lines that fall under the Journal Standard umbrella, they’re all here too.

Indigo & Cotton
Indigo & Cotton‘s webshop has been a long time coming and well, it’s here now. Brett has always done a really good job with the photography on the blog and it’s transitioned well onto a site that feels something like the physical shop itself. If you missed my visit to their Charleston space last summer you might wanna check it out.

M.Nii
Handsome tee’s and board shorts by M.Nii which originally started as a tailor shop on Oahu repairing the baggies of local surfers. Eventually Mr. Nii got the right idea to cut out the middleman and start making his own shorts- the rest is history. Read more about their story and see the rest of the line here.
Authentic
Surely they aren’t making them like they used to. Photos found from an image hoarder/ebay scourer, more here.
Gage+Desoto Summer ’84 Jersey
A jersey so fine that even my favorite cycling curmudgeon Timothy from Landlords has given it a thumbs up. The 80’s throwback style jersey is only available by pre-order from Brooklyn’s Gage+Desoto until April 21st so get on it. For maximum rad aesthetic it is recommended that you also sport a Team Z cap as shown above (an all time favorite kit) and go the extra mile with an old pair of Sidi Genius 2’s!
Journal Standard Spring
Pages pulled from both men’s and women’s Spring Journal Standard catalogs, lots of great styling of Breton stripes, madras plaids, and all those other Spring things I like. If you’ve been following this blog or my tumblr you probably already know I’ve got a thing for Journal Standard and all the sub-lines that it entails, check out the rest at Baycrews.
Three Caps
The onset of spring means I get to wear hats that don’t have to cover my ears and I am excited to start wearing these caps regularly. The first is a collaboration between Tracko and Yanco made from a medium weight Pendleton wool so it’ll be a good transitional cap. The ball cap is made by FairEnds for Hickoree’s and the tweed camp cap also made by FairEnds– a collaboration with James from Secret Forts. Unfortunately both the Pendleton cycling cap and Tweed camp cap were limited runs but the ball caps (in more great colorways!) are for sale at Hickoree’s.

Perfect
This photo popped up on my tumblroblogdashboard this past weekend and has since stuck with me. With the help of Google image search’s reverse look up I was able to track down the original source of the photo to find the subject as John Brown of Oi Polloi whose face I then recalled seeing in the never ending Deck Out look book.
Mr. Brown is, for lack of better words, killing it: waxed jacket, well-fitting chinos, and a pair of Quoddy moccasins. Oh, and of course the bike (which from the “M” on the downtube leads me to believe is a Mercian) is fitted with full fenders, a leather saddle, and leather bar tape. It’s not often I come across a street style photo where the person’s bike actually reflects the owners style but here you have it.
