Lookbook photographs from Rapha’s Spring/Summer 2012 lines (Training & Racing, Women, and Pro Team) shot by Ben Ingham in the Sierra Nevada mountain range of Spain. I thought it odd that they didn’t do a lookbook for their city riding line as they had last season. It seems like they keep offering more and more casual pieces for casual riding every season so why not highlight those pieces as well? . See the lookbook in its entirety here.

The 189 Shop
Photographs taken from the newly opened 189 shop by English owner-operators Mark Robinson and Daniel Benning. If you’re not familiar with The 189 already it’s one of my personal favorite places to see and read; Mark and Daniel have great taste in photography and design so the content is always eye pleasing. So far they’ve got a selection of goods from Tender Co, Heritage Research, and Makr among others with more to come. Good luck with the shop guys, looking forward to seeing it grow.

Parka
I have quite a few parkas hanging up at home but chose to highlight these two because of the fact that they’re lined, the Holubar with wool and the Penfield with what seems to be cotton. Both are made from a 60/40 cotton-nylon fabric pioneered by Sierra Designs in their parkas- also in my parka stash but I think you’ve probably seen enough pictures of those if you frequent blogs like this one. FairEnds
If the shape of the these camp (and baseball style) caps look familiar then perhaps you remember the post I wrote on the cap from a now defunct Freeman Transport. Benjamin Ferencz (pronounced “fair-ends”) formerly of Freeman Transport and his partner Martin Carvajal formerly of Freemans Sporting Club launched FairEnds with an intial offering of five-panel and baseball caps in their own original patterns. In the coming months Fairends will also be releasing a backpack, tote bag, tote pack, and a set of pouches for odds and ends. Really liking the hickory stripes and polka dots and definitely excited for their bags, all are American made goods.

Hackney GT
Hackney GT is a London based company run by a fella named Russ Jones. Russ got in touch with me after I posted a screen cap of his jerseys as seen in a Rapha Super Cross video on tumblr seeking its origins because I thought they were just that awesome. The alpine style jerseys are now on sale at the Hackney GT webshop, save me a green in a size small Russ!
Sundowner

I’ve been looking around on ebay for a pair of Italian made Vasque’s for a little while now- they’re currently being made in China and I’ve heard enough negative feedback to even consider buying a new pair, especially since the msrp is at $180. Sure these are a little bit beat up but they’re miles from retirement, I just reconditioned the leather and threw on some laces I had around.. who wants to wear pristine boots anyways?

Field Test: Outlier Climber Pants
I’ve been wearing these pants nearly every day for the past couple weeks while commuting rain or shine and they’ve being living up to every expectation that I’ve had for them. Lucky for this test the past week was filled with showers that I gladly rode through- the pants were not stuck under a faucet in order to report water repellency as you may have seen in other gear reviews.
